I am planning to interview a person about being a leader. First I need to think about who I am going to interview. Then i am going to brainstorm some questions I may ask the person and finally blog it. I want to interview someone who is a leader and who portrays the characteristics we discussed in class.
Characteristics:
1. Relateable- to the problem or issue
2. Confident-about what they are doing
3. Courageous-in speaking up
4. Enthusiastic- About what the are representing
5. Honest- to people and what they are doing
6. Have and maintain their core beliefs
7. Ambitious
8. Vision
9. Have a vision about what they want or what their plan is to achieve what they are doing
10. Passionate-about what they are doing
These ^^ characteristics above are ones we discussed in class about Valvano. I also think these are a few traits that leaders should portray.
A person that comes to my mind about all these traits would be my religious teacher My religious teacher has a degree in engineering and he is attorney. He attended Northwestern to obtain these degrees. He works full time and also is very involved in the community. He is on the board of our mosque which deals with education of underprivileged children worldwide of any faith and race. They come up with plans to help children gain a sufficient education. The reason I chose my religious teacher is because he encourages students to come to his class and he also teaches us about the poverty around the world. He tells us how we can help in ways were it does not take a lot of time but could make the biggest difference. My teacher is always there to talk to about any situation I may face. He is always willing to help me or anyone.

A Few Questions that came to my Mind:
What does your leadership position entail?
What advice do you have for aspiring leaders?
What is the biggest challenge you have faced as a leader?
How do you get others to follow you?
What or who inspired you to become a leader?
What do you as a leader do to affect your community?
How did you get to where you are now?

Fahrin, I know we got off to a slow start with the blog, but your post here in preparation for your interview is very good. You have excellent detail and a high level of thoughtfulness. Watch your typos, misspellings, etc., though. As a product that will be on the WWW, you want this to reflect your best writing. Proofread and edit as necessary.
ReplyDeleteYou still have several posts to make -- the personal best, your reflection on the leader interview, and a post to a classmates blog. Let's get those done and reflect in those circumstances by relating back to our classroom discussions to date.
I am enjoying seeing you participate more in class! Keep that up!
These questions sound very well thought out. I think your religious leader sounds like an interesting choice who can help educate others on different types of leadership.
